saw slint the other night. they sounded nice and tight and loud, but seemed a little bored.

saw a chopped off braid of brownish red hair on the subway tracks tonight, the uptown express track at union square. it was about a foot and half long, with a blue ribbon tied at one end. did someone give herself a spur of the moment new look, or was it an assault and makeover?

saw three movies in a row which feature the death of a lovable character: Turtles Can Fly, Nobody Knows, and Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance. highly recommended, but not especially easy to watch.

heard Smog's new record "a river ain't too much to love." really really great all the way through.

a young kid asked me tonight in the grocery store where was the cream cheese. "you know, for bagels," he said.

i know this (your) post is quite old, but i just stumbled onto it. Funny, cause i purchased the Smog record two days ago, and i like it very much too. I found myself talking to myself in smogisms all day today, taking my thoughts and applying his talkish melodies to them under my breath. the line "there is no love where there is no bramble" is so nice i nearly got it tattooed on my penis but discovered i only had money enough to write "there is no love" - and my wife would sternly dissapprove of that.

ha ha! ouch, buddy. i would advise against both options, unless you plan to become a certain kind of film star and move to the valley.

The trick is to tattoo the phrase down and around, like a spiraling staircase. When erect, you look something like a loose bed spring.

If you can somehow become erect quickly, then just as quickly become, ummm, not erect, the effect is somewhat like a slinky. Fun for both a girl and a boy.
